Our Commitment
The Puzzleboard is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We believe that people with disabilities are a significant and valued part of the puzzle audience, and we strive to provide a website experience that is inclusive, usable, and enjoyable for everyone.
Conformance Standard
We target WCAG 2.2 Level AA as our minimum conformance standard. Where feasible, we aspire to meet Level AAA criteria to provide the best possible experience for all users.
Our efforts include:
- Semantic HTML with proper heading hierarchy and landmark regions
- Sufficient colour contrast ratios meeting WCAG AA requirements
- Keyboard-navigable interactive elements with visible focus indicators
- Descriptive alt text for all meaningful images
- ARIA labels and roles where native HTML semantics are insufficient
- Skip navigation links for keyboard users
- Responsive design that works across devices and screen sizes
- Respecting user preferences for reduced motion
Known Limitations
We are aware that no website is perfectly accessible, and we are continuously working to improve. The following known limitations will be addressed as part of our ongoing accessibility programme:
- Some third-party components (e.g., Google Analytics scripts) may not fully conform to WCAG 2.2 guidelines. These are loaded only with user consent and do not affect core site functionality.
- Product images will include detailed alt text as catalogue content is added.
This section will be updated following post-launch accessibility testing to reflect any additional findings.
Remediation Timeline
Any accessibility issues identified through testing or user feedback will be triaged and addressed according to the following timeline:
- Critical issues (preventing access to core functionality): resolved within 7 days.
- Major issues (significantly impeding usability): resolved within 30 days.
- Minor issues (cosmetic or enhancement-level): resolved within 90 days.
We conduct regular accessibility reviews and will commission independent audits as the site grows.
Reporting Accessibility Issues
If you encounter any accessibility barriers on our site, we want to hear from you. Please contact us with details of the issue so we can work to resolve it:
- Email: hello@thepuzzleboard.com
When reporting an issue, it helps if you can include:

We aim to acknowledge all accessibility reports within 5 working days and provide a resolution or update within 30 days.
How We Test
Our accessibility testing approach includes:
- Automated testing with accessibility linting tools during development
- Manual keyboard navigation and screen reader testing
- Colour contrast verification against WCAG AA thresholds
- Cross-browser and cross-device testing
